As a player, Phil represented Great Britain in the Youth Olympics and has travelled all over the world playing in both representative and international tournaments. As well as competing on the ATP tour, qualifying at Wimbledon and the satellite circuit.
Now competing on the ITF Seniors Tour Phil has won 6 tournaments and is currently ranked 25 in the world at singles and 21 in the world at doubles.
This year Phil represented England in the Seniors Four Nations Cup winning the over 35s category.
Phil has also represented Dorset at both junior and a senior level winning the mens singles and doubles county championships two years in a row.
Having to retire from the professional game through injury Phil has now been coaching for 20 years in that time he has captained both boys and girls county teams and is currently coaching all ages from under 10’s to under 18’s for Dorset LTA.
Phil coaches many players top in the county for their age and players who have played regional and national competition in all age groups, he has coached the current under 17 number 1 in the country for 5 years.
Phil has been at Wimborne now for 13 years in that time the junior and adult programme has increased and the club is moving forwards.
In the last 3 years Phil has set up his academy at the club and currently has 20 county
Players and 3 national players, Before Wimborne he was at David Lloyds Ringwood for 7 years as head coach.
